Try This Healthy Pumpkin Spice Latte!

It's officially Fall!!!! And that means....pumpkin everything!!! I know that it is super tempting to get your PSL from Starbucks on the daily...but those calories can add up. Try this slightly healthier version with the same amazing taste!

What you will need:

(Makes 1 Latte)

1 Cup of Coffee OR 2 Shots of Espresso

3/4 Cup Unsweetened Almond Milk

1/4 Cup Canned Pumpkin (Organic if you can find it!)

1 Teaspoon Pumpkin Pie Spice (You can buy this at your local grocery store, or make your own by blending cinnamon, ginger, cloves & nutmeg).

1/2 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract

1 Tablespoon Maple Syrup (If you are cutting out sugar, try stevia!)

Steps:

1) Make coffee or espresso.

2) While coffee is brewing, heat up in a sauce pan over medium heat: 1/2 Cup of the almond milk (save 1/4 cup to froth for topping if you prefer), pumpkin, pumpkin pie spice, vanilla extract, and maple syrup. Mix together gently with whisk. Heat for a few minutes until mixture has reached the desired temperature.

3) Add coffee to mixture.

4) Froth remaining 1/4 cup almond milk.

(I use an electric milk frother like this one. If you do not own one, you can simply heat it up with the rest of the mixture!)

5) Pour mixture in mug.

6) Top with almond milk froth and sprinkle with a bit of pumpkin pie spice. Enjoy!
